Luke used his potty the first time he set on it. I bought it for him to get used to seeing it but he has enjoyed sitting on it. After his first pee and poop in the toilet I thought for sure it was a one time thing. Tonight he peed again! I guess this might be the beginning of the fun......Pull-ups next!<br /><br />It's amazing the things that get a mother excited. Luke probably thought we were crazy! Karleigh turned 2!! After the party we took a nap and then we were ready to try out the pool. Luke didn't seem real thrilled with it so we just stuck his foot in the water. We just hung around the house and napped and napped. I miss my naps at work now. Jeff came home from a 12 hour shift and slept with Luke in the recliner. He hadn't seen Luke since Thursday evening with his crazy schedule. I can't believe the weekend is almost over. Jeff is working second shift this week so he is going to keep Luke some during the day. It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. It helps knowing that he's with my mom. </div><div align="center">I think the toughest thing today was his doctor's visit. Luke had to get 3 shots. I'm not sure who cried more, me or him. The poor thing didn't just cry....he screamed. Whoever invented shots may just be evil. I know it keeps him from getting sick but I don't think I can do that again. At about 9:00 he finally let me lay him in his crib. Before that he screamed if he was not in our arms. Luke is now 11 pounds 3 ounces and he's 24 inches long. He's growing so fast!!</div><div align="center"> I may find it's a long night and it's just me so I better sleep while I can. </div><div align="center">Nighty night!</div>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188258405727211871.post-90667657822506316862009-05-31T04:43:00.000-07:002009-05-31T04:49:01.001-07:00YAY!<div align="center">Luke has slept through the night the last two nights!! It's been so nice to get that extra sleep but when I first did not hear him crying around 2:00/3:00 I worried something was wrong. He must know I have to go back to work tomorrow :( I can't believe it's time for me to go back. It has been so nice spending time with Luke and being the first one to see his new accomplishments. Going back to work is going to be so much tougher than I ever imagined..... It isn't the same color wood so it doesn't match his dresser but it is a nice looking crib. The mobile doesn't fit right on there which drives me crazy but what can ya do.... Hopefully this one will last and not get recalled!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8sX5ulKJUo3t7yTjHw0gQi2pfCLs4Z4h2Y3VgCNiRMWFUUrCwIij1_k2XyZgcubGMSCtEkLdGKVLd7rSktx6bJOazZr1O49wq4YZoilh0n3MC0j-on0N4a1Xt2mrbWdkydTwLD9h3fw/s1600-h/P1018101.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340990551777174914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht8sX5ulKJUo3t7yTjHw0gQi2pfCLs4Z4h2Y3VgCNiRMWFUUrCwIij1_k2XyZgcubGMSCtEkLdGKVLd7rSktx6bJOazZr1O49wq4YZoilh0n3MC0j-on0N4a1Xt2mrbWdkydTwLD9h3fw/s320/P1018101.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188258405727211871.post-12597345585335002992009-05-25T16:35:00.000-07:002009-05-25T16:45:10.510-07:00Luke's first beach trip!!<div><div><div><div align="center">This past weekend was Luke's first trip to the beach. I think he really liked it and he did really well with the car ride there and back. He mostly slept on the beach. I think the sound of the ocean instantly soothed him. We just lounged all weekend. Matt and Karleigh came on Sunday to hang out. Tammy had to work and we missed her! I can't wait to do it again. It felt like the last trip before summer vacation is up for me. I have to go back to work next week after being out for 2 months. It's going to be tough!!</div><div> </div><div align="center">First thing on the beach</div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339910570485794594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPuunKnELQ9ByLzeOAxOIaO8iivhudYqah4wQuMkX4KC46Tm7LyedA0EHloMo-r8j2wGVy_p628y_vVclFkIsUKc-12BSBsMj1wNI9yQ541JMVL_vep3fRGRmmZoBNPansjmzKmpsc1vE/s320/P5220010.JPG" border="0" /></div></div></div></div><br /><p> </p><p align="center">My parents with Luke<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339910580420589042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC62NFurkknoyb574q-18TrvSiD-PB2rrSlTZBNBgWqrg8-BExQabI4DwRiH043fFrz_2XejR5uC1XHCCm1CS6_jD0S6aT5mkTeDSYcv4_ShrMJ2hlwECpS8HCYokKBcHwLGA3k8tv2S8/s320/P5220012.JPG" border="0" /></p><p align="center">Such a good napping place!!!</p><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339910584157021138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXkbySULkqnBfjHBZv9BmjZu5m5_m-2xcky6x6yJGUqqOoGA2UqDzl5R4NMUintLZq8T_9H2P-YgjHd32RYi_LIxlb38anSREuHXqoyZt2F9qqqaKQFunsIj7Ri3z2gvvObcO2aC7F1c0/s320/P5220007.JPG" border="0" />Jeff and Luke the day we left<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339910590329585698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTVbZYE3I67rRvdQnHohe84fLg9A2X_JHpfR8kzHfX9_gkSfrRVg1VO_IDVlvy3I79Q-y9KoGvbU2kSm0Sx_h30f_HHxZdkIT44VTsehEGWr3TdlhPfqSBGo52eTNKwlfHS1DAhis8rQA/s320/P1018075.JPG" border="0" /></p><p align="center">This is a small portion of the many many pictures we all took!!</p>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188258405727211871.post-60779569020541308612009-05-22T06:35:00.000-07:002009-05-22T06:48:02.449-07:002 Months Old<div align="center">I can't believe our little guy is 2 months old today!! Time is flying by! He's smiling, laughing, and doing baby talk all the time now. It's hard getting up early in the mornings with him but when he gives you his cute smile it just makes you smile too. I can't believe I have to go back to work soon. It's going to be tough after spending all my time with Luke. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">We took a visit to the Senior Center this week while a lot of the usual group was there and they all thought he is precious. He slept through the whole visit. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">We finally got things straight with the crib recall and we got another one. We lucked up that they had the crib we wanted in stock and we were able to take it home the same day. I'll post a picture once we get it together. It's not going to match his dresser though. A nice one that would have matched was almost $200 on top of the price of our voucher which made the crib $400 total. That wasn't going to happen so the one we got is sort of a cherry or walnut color. Hopefully this one won't get recalled......<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFU60e4Orbd5HrzSyzVy66-psaf37iUkVqeCgBeHsHsrdUOuAfoQB1TiFuH0xhjmB86RPjQQR9_wgfVFSq7OP-29mdTGDd0JDR5alduSPrbY4SC8f92r5hLJiHa_LCXGUBkpcLDWbKfO0/s1600-h/P5190071.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338642115100070146" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFU60e4Orbd5HrzSyzVy66-psaf37iUkVqeCgBeHsHsrdUOuAfoQB1TiFuH0xhjmB86RPjQQR9_wgfVFSq7OP-29mdTGDd0JDR5alduSPrbY4SC8f92r5hLJiHa_LCXGUBkpcLDWbKfO0/s320/P5190071.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188258405727211871.post-81998871291250130122009-05-13T18:22:00.000-07:002009-05-13T18:37:57.504-07:00Snakes are the devil....<div align="center">Here is the nasty snake that me and Luke first almost stepped on in the yard and then it was on our back deck ruining our little outing. I saw it out of the corner of my eye thinking it was the hose but after doing a double take I realized it was a snake. Luke, Daisy and myself high-tailed it back in the house. Then the sneaky devil climbed onto the back porch where Luke and I were going to sit and be able to keep an eye on where the snake went. Little did we know he was at our feet again. Jeff got home and took his head off with a shovel. I know black snakes are supposed to be good for some things but I sure enough did not want that thing that close to my house.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg3Ek41XnxJfeCWe0aFWor4g54uLAcUbo-ebLQaRpCifJEs8V3CDso-TRZM5ZEcIULIgWC5rJV1Jm5x_YdNYjlDw75t09EMdrOSaZqPNReYbXzqiJZ5IInx4o9VAIhKDh0y9KZ09r69AY/s1600-h/P1018076.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335484631348695954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg3Ek41XnxJfeCWe0aFWor4g54uLAcUbo-ebLQaRpCifJEs8V3CDso-TRZM5ZEcIULIgWC5rJV1Jm5x_YdNYjlDw75t09EMdrOSaZqPNReYbXzqiJZ5IInx4o9VAIhKDh0y9KZ09r69AY/s320/P1018076.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Here is Luke after the snake experience right before bath time. His is one of the recalled cribs. They tell you to stop using it immediately but it will take them two weeks to send me a voucher to get a new one. Now how does that make any sense. They're causing me a huge inconvience, why can't they step up and overnight be a dang voucher. Another thing that stinks is that I can only use the voucher at Babies R Us so that narrows my choices. So Luke will be spending time in his play pen again....<br /><div></div>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188258405727211871.post-56812300279259653082009-05-04T13:04:00.000-07:002009-05-04T13:07:23.657-07:00My Two Boys<div align="center">I got some cute pictures of my 2 guys sleeping.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_LvKqupDR3JWp-Ygx3nz8iG-tMZ2SKD12kCgRlsph4gInxBht_TFJHg5e_ZqfBAB4YjT_oLELNjritlCvz0cCVsU0oJ1ybuiBTIzBeOieQVzfZDUglgEgEBqH-9XTCifYtFXoTE02RxI/s1600-h/P1018062.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332062555808775906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_LvKqupDR3JWp-Ygx3nz8iG-tMZ2SKD12kCgRlsph4gInxBht_TFJHg5e_ZqfBAB4YjT_oLELNjritlCvz0cCVsU0oJ1ybuiBTIzBeOieQVzfZDUglgEgEBqH-9XTCifYtFXoTE02RxI/s320/P1018062.JPG" border="0" /></a>It looks like Luke's neck broke. It was out at the Orange County Speedway for the 2nd time. We went out with Luke and we made it for the luminary lighting. They cut the lights out for the luminaries around 9:00 so Luke was doing good right up until then. He cried during the entire luminary service. I was on the committee again this year but I didn't do very much with Luke just getting here this year. I hope to do more next year.</div><ol><li><div align="center"> </div></li></ol><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Orange Family Medical team. Mamma has been really helpful by picking me up so I wouldn't have to sit and wait. Luke got to ride in his Grandma's car and car seat. We found these thick strap covers that help hold his head up while driving around. They worked great but I had to take a picture because it looked so funny! They sorta look like Dumbo ears. He was mad getting into the car seat but he slept really well on these two big pillows.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYCqtXmpDxtk12e0EquswCLkkt26flLZmhP_6nSQWarBTVXa7tzIm0yfOwMnIsdorgOf_OM5eZRr61EeZFSftgZ8jK570wqf9e-x8Bku6BagVSAqO2YDIZE6DMhQNvD0530ygIGzb47tE/s1600-h/P1018052.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330681077182604370" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYCqtXmpDxtk12e0EquswCLkkt26flLZmhP_6nSQWarBTVXa7tzIm0yfOwMnIsdorgOf_OM5eZRr61EeZFSftgZ8jK570wqf9e-x8Bku6BagVSAqO2YDIZE6DMhQNvD0530ygIGzb47tE/s320/P1018052.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div>Dawn Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077624063117473576noreply@blogger.com0
